Find
a Church Near You
We believe that before and after you
become a Christian (one who believes and turns to Christ), surrounding yourself
with other believers is VITAL. It is very difficult to live as God's
children in this day and age and grow to maturity. If you are in a
location looking for a church and you don't know where to start or you are at
your wits end, we would like to support you in your endeavor and help where we
can. We can't guarantee we will find one within 10 minutes but we can
try. Don't get discouraged. We believe you shouldn't compromise
either, you need to attend somewhere where you hear the truth of God's Word and
that is hard to find these days.
When we moved to Fredericksburg, VA
it took 3 months, and 10 churches we tried. We feel we exhausted the
area. But God is good and knows your needs, so keep searching for Him and
He will bless that! We came from a church in Austin, TX that we loved and
the pastor was a graduate from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). On their
web site, they have a 'Find
A Church' page, you can plug in your zip code and they will locate a DTS
graduate in your area. Of course you realize that not all DTS graduates
believe in the same Biblical issues or are from the same church backgrounds with
the same doctrines. So keep that in mind when you are trying their
churches.
So, contact
us and we can give you some recourses to help you locate a church.
A few questions
you will ask yourself when trying a new church:

Do they
believe God is all sovereign, eternal, never changing all wise and the God
of the Bible?

Do they
believe that the Bible is verbally inspiring, infallible, and inherent Word
of God?

Do they have
their core values readily available for you to take home and look at?
-
Is their
worship focused on worshiping God (reverent and biblical) or themselves?
-
Is the Bible
the only guide for faith and practice? [Preaching the Scriptures is the
chief means God blesses His people (Titus 1:1-3)]
-
What
ministries do they offer? Are they well balance?
-
Do they have
good/strong youth programs or Bible based programs for children like AWANA
and Pioneer Clubs? And if not ask why and maybe YOU could plug in to
help!

What is the
leadership structure?
-
Does the
pastor have the accountability of several elders or deacons?
-
How are the
members involved in voting in new members of leadership?
-
How are their
financial gifts distributed?
-
What is the
church's doctrinal statement?
-
What are
their goals as a church?
-
Do they have
a passion to share the Gospel of Jesus as Paul presses his churches of the
bible?
-
Do they offer
classes or ministries that could help you and/or your family to grow
spiritually?
-
Where could
you fit into the church, using your God given talents? [Churches are not
meant to be there for people to sponge up what they can and leave it at
that! YES, YOU have something to offer back to God and His
people!!!!!] **It took us awhile to figure this out but when we did,
we were blessed 10 fold as we involved our lives into other lives as well,
inside and outside the church. Yes, it's scary but it's also very awe
inspiring how God uses us ordinary scraps of thread to build a unique and
beautiful tapestry. And no, not one single church is going to be
perfect, so don't go looking for one!!!!
